Saturday Morning Coffee for Saturday, May 14, 2022 5/14 · 30:16

Welcome to Saturday Morning Coffee for Saturday May 14, 2022!

Reese is traveling with his family this weekend, so we have special Guest Host Savannah Craven in the studio with Glenn Dye for this week's episode of Saturday Morning Coffee.

Savannah and Glenn open the show with a discussion of the protests and threats of violence this week directed at the Justices of the Supreme Court as a result of their apparent intent to reverse the ruling of Roe vs. Wade in the Dobbs case that they are now considering.  We also discuss the idea that Trump will likely run for President and 2024, and other items being discussed in the news this week, including the threat of nuclear war with Russia and the renewed threat of terrorism.  We also discuss recent developments in the Britney Drexel case, who disappeared from Myrtle Beach in 2009.  An individual who has been a "person of interest" since 2012 has not been arrested.

Savannah and Glenn are joined on the program by John Cassidy, who discusses his campaign for the newly-created District 61 in the S.C. House of Representatives.  (voteforjohncassidy.com)

Robert Cahaly, highly regarded pollster with the Trafalgar Group polling firm, discusses the current US Senate Race in Pennsylvania.  Kathy Barnette, who has not been endorsed by President Trump, has been making strong gains in recent polling.

Finally, we're also joined on the show by Rep. Russell Fry, who joins us to discuss the recent legislative session in the S.C. General Assembly, and his campaign for Congress.  He discusses some recent events with the campaign, including his endorsement by President Donald Trump, and some events coming up for the campaign.  Savannah and Russell also discuss the recent (and very important) election integrity bill that was passed by the General Assembly in the last week of the session.

Thanks for listening to Saturday Morning Coffee and thank you to Savannah Craven for Guest Hosting!  Join us again next week, live or on the pod-cast, for more Saturday Morning Coffee!

Saturday Morning Coffee for Saturday, April 30, 2022 4/30 · 29:53

Welcome to Saturday Morning Coffee for April 30, 2022!

On this week's show, Reese and Glenn discuss the recent purchase of Twitter by billionaire Elon Musk, and how it has brought the Left and the Twitter-sphere to near-meltdown status.  We also discuss the announcement this week of the formation of of a "Disinformation Governance Board" within the Dept. of Homeland Security, and what a disastrously bad (and dangerous) idea this is.

Sen Josh Kimbrell (R-Spartanburg), member of the S.C. Senate, also joins us on the program to discuss our efforts to pass election integrity reform legislation, and the current status of that bill in the S.C. Senate.  Sen. Kimbrell also discusses his efforts to remove certain items from the Senate's version of the State budget, including funding for a gender reassignment clinic at MUSC.

We're also joined on the show by Tyson Langhofer, Esq., an attorney who leads the Center for Academic Freedom at the Alliance Defending Freedom, who joins us to discuss the recent victory announced by the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in the case in which Langhofer and the ADF Team represented Prof. Nick Merriwether in his legal case with his employer, Shawnee State University (Ohio).  The University had previously required Prof. Merriwether to use pronouns at the request of one of his students, that were not the student's biological pronouns.  When Prof. Merriwether refused to comply, this case ensued.  The opinion from the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals confirms the argument made by ADF, that the Government cannot compel a college professor (or anyone else) to say or state something that that individual knows to be untrue.  The Merriwether decision is an important victory for religious and academic freedom, and an important victory for individual liberty, whether one agrees with Dr. Merriwether's perspective on the issues or not.

Liz Callaway interviews Dr. Naomi Wolf... Author of "The Bodies of Others..." 4/28 · 17:53

Naomi Wolf, author of The Bodies of Others: The New Authoritarians, Covid-19 and the War Against the Human. Wolf is co-founder and CEO of DailyClout.io, a successful civic tech company.

The Bodies of Others is about how we came to the harrowing civilizational crossroads at which we find ourselves - engaged in a war against vast impersonal forces with limitless power over our lives and which threaten the freedoms we have always taken for granted.

In her most provocative book yet, Dr. Naomi Wolf shows how these forces -- from Big Tech and Big Pharma to the CCP and our oligarchical elites -- seized upon two years of COVID-19 panic in sinister new ways, to not only undermine our Republic but to fundamentally reorient human relations.

Their target is humanity itself. Their end goal is to ensure that our pre-March 2020 world is gone forever. Irretrievable. To be replaced with a world in which all human endeavor-all human joy, all human fellowship, all human advancement, all human culture, all human song, all human drama, all worship, all surprise, all flirtation, all celebration-is behind a digital paywall. A world in which we will all have to ask technology's permission to be human.

Saturday Morning Coffee for Saturday, March 12, 2022 3/12 · 33:42

Welcome to Saturday Morning Coffee for March 12, 2022!

Reese is joined in the studio this week by Special Guest Host Savannah Craven.  We discuss the ongoing problems with Biden's economy, including historic inflation, and other marked differences between life in America under the Trump Administration, versus today's "Biden economy."  We discuss Biden's green energy agenda and the inconsistency and hypocrisy baked into the program, including the marked absence of any discussion of natural gas or nuclear power - to readily available "emissions neutral" energy sources.  We also discuss the Trump Rally that will be taking place the evening of March 12 in Florence, South Carolina.

Convention of States Update:  Chris Poyatt with the Convention of States Project joins us on the program to discuss the passage of the COS Resolution by the S.C. State Senate, which moves the Resolution to the Governor's desk for signature, since the Resolution has already passed the S.C. House of Representatives in 2021.

"I'm Just a Bill" - Bob Keller, Sales Manager with WTKN, joins us on the program to discuss the "Bob Keller S.C. Homeowner Flag Freedom Act of 2022."  The Bill was introduced last year, after Bob Keller got "sideways" with his neighborhood HOA, over his efforts to display the S.C. flag in his front yard, and spoke to your humble host, Reese Boyd, who drafted a bill and spoke to Rep. William Bailey about the situation.  Rep. Bailey introduced the Bill, and the rest is an unfolding story of (maybe!) history in the making!  We discuss Bob's Bill and what it does to make a stand for "homeowner freedom" in South Carolina!

Putin and the Nuclear Option: Patty-Jane Gellar with Heritage Foundation joins us on the program to discuss recent comments made by Russian President Putin and how dangerous Putin's approach to nuclear brinksmanship is for the world.  Finally, we're joined on the show by Ken Richardson, candidate for Congress in the SC-07 Congressional District, a seat currently held by Rep. Tom Rice.  We discuss Ken's focus on election integrity, and the importance of restoring confidence in our electoral processes.  Ken discusses the progress he's making on his campaign for congress, and he shares some "Parting Wisdom" about the need for Republicans to work together to defeat Democrats, and the progressive / liberal agenda, that is working hard to take over this country.

Liz Callaway interviews Tom Mullen about the War in Ukraine 3/1 · 16:46

Tom Mullen says:

Yes, Vladimir Putin has ordered his military to invade Ukraine. His troops have captured key cities and are methodically surrounding the rest. But he’s not at war with the Ukrainian people. He’s at war with the D.C. empire and its puppet president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Contrary to the propaganda put out by the usual suspects, it is not going badly for the Russians. They are conducting the operation patiently and methodically, reflecting the disposition of their leader. And they’re killing far less civilians and destroying far less civilian infrastructure than the U.S. does during a typical war crime.

Oh, was that unpatriotic? Sorry, not sorry.

The power of the propaganda machine is impressive. Suddenly, everyone has amnesia. Putin has attacked Ukraine “for no reason.” It is an “unprovoked attack” serving only Putin’s imperial wish to reconstitute the Soviet empire or perhaps preserve his own power within Russia.

How can anyone believe this?

Liz Callaway Interviews Breitbart's Robert Kraychik about the Crackdown on Protesters in Ottawa 2/21 · 21:43

Kraychick, an Ottawan himself, tells us what is really going on in Ottawa, how the Trucker Freedom Convoy is being handled by the Canadian Government, what we could see happening with the US Freedom Convoy next week ... and what did happen to the woman we see trampled by a mounted police officer during the crackdown.  Are American Truckers being baited into a trap in DC?

Saturday Morning Coffee for Saturday, February 19, 2022 2/19 · 27:15

On Saturday Morning Coffee this week, we discuss ongoing developments with the Canadian Truckers' Freedom Convoy; and uncomfortable question for Dr. Fauci about, "when will the COVID-19 pandemic end?", and Reese discusses efforts to pass a bill in the S.C. General Assembly to protect homeowners' rights to fly the S.C. Flag in their yards.  We're joined on the show by Kylie Clarke and Jeremy Vaught, with the SC Safe Elections organization, who update us on the efforts of this organization to protect the integrity of our electoral process.  Zack Smith with the Heritage Foundation joins the show to discuss a recent and bizarre attack, an alleged attempted assassination of a mayoral candidate by a BLM activist who is already out of jail on bail posted by the BLM organization.

NOTE: due to a technical problem, the audio from Zack Smith's telephone interview did not come through onto the Podcast recording.  If we can fix this issue, we'll repost the corrected audio for this segment.  Thank you!

Thank you for listening to Saturday Morning Coffee!

Welcome to Saturday Morning Coffee for February 12, 2022:

Welcome to Saturday Morning Coffee for February 12, 2022!  Reese opens the show with a brief discussion of Valentines, Groundhog Day, and the Super Bowl.  We talk about one item on Reese's bucket list - to travel to Puxsatawney, PA and "Gobbler's Knob" for Groundhog Day, along with some other "bucket list" destinations in Pennsylvania that are on our list.

Canadian Freedom Truckers:  Reese and Glenn discuss the ongoing saga of the Canadian Freedom Truckers and their ongoing fight for their freedom - and yours!  Reese discusses the significance of the event - which some seem to overlook, and some interesting parallels with other, similar events in the past.

Interview with Reporter Rick Brundrette - Rick Brundrette with the Nerve (www.theNerve.org) joins us on the program to discuss some recent stories his written in the past week, including a story about the SC Gas Tax, and how it doesn't seem to be making a dent in the problem of SC's bad roads and bridges.  We also talk about a story he's written about state funds being spent for the benefit of Boeing and Volvo, without full and complete disclosure from the Department of Commerce that taxpayers deserve and are entitled to!  (After all, it is YOUR money!)  Lastly, Rick discusses an article he wrote this week about a meeting of the Horry County legislative delegation to nominate former Rep. Alan Clemmons to Horry County's vacant Master-In-Equity position, and whether that "meeting" complies with S.C. law, since it wasn't really a meeting, but rather a letter that was circulated privately among delegation members while they were in session at the General Assembly in Columbia.  You can read these and other stories from Rick Brundrette at The Nerve's website - www.theNerve.org

Interview with Rep. Bill Taylor - We're joined on the show by Rep. Bill Taylor (R-Aiken) to talk about an Attorney General's Opinion about physicians' "Right to Treat" in SC and their right to practice medicine free from political pressure and oversight.  We discuss how the "politicization" of the treatment and medical response to COVID-19 has likely cost many thousands of Americans their lives.  Rep. Taylor shares some of his thoughts for dealing with the pressures that physicians and healthcare providers are facing in a world that has bizarrely chosen to make the treatment of a particular disease a political tool and endeavor.

Interview with Solicitor Jimmy Richardson - Fifteenth Circuit Solicitor (Horry, Georgetown Counties) Jimmy Richardson joins us in the studio to discuss some recent developments from the criminal docket and from the Solicitor's office, including a recent case involving an egregious murder that was filmed by the (now convicted) killer, who shared video of the killing with others over the "SnapChat" video sharing service.  Reese and Jimmy also discuss the special challenges posed by vulnerable adults among our retired population, and the example this week of a case involving a suit filed by the victim's family against DSS, with criminal charges brought in the same case against the care-giver for criminal neglect of a vulnerable adult.

In the Parting Wisdom segment, Reese shares a small-ish bit of wisdom he picked up from the "Andy Griffeth" Show and the Town of Mayberry, and as always, closes the show with one of his favorite bits of Proverbial wisdom, Proverbs 3:5-6.  Y'all be blessed!  Have a GREAT WEEK and join us again next weekend for more SATURDAY MORNING COFFEE!!

"Trust in the Lord with all your Heart, and lean not on your own understandings.  In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths."

Saturday Morning Coffee for Saturday, January 29, 2022 1/29 · 35:55

Hello and Welcome to the Saturday Morning Coffee Podcast for January 29, 2022!

Note that we've been on a bit of a podcast "hiatus" for the last several weeks, as we've been having some technical difficulties with our podcast software, but we think those issues are all resolved, and we'll be catching up on the podcast over the next few weeks.  Thanks for bearing with us!

On this Episode of Saturday Morning Coffee, your Host Reese Boyd and Produced Glenn Dye remember the Challenger disaster, 36 years later.  We pay tribute to the Challenger 7, and to engineer Allan J. McDonald, who courageously pushed back against his own bosses and NASA in an effort to stop the launch of the Challenger Space Shuttle on January 28, 1986.  We also discuss the "covert operations" of DHS and FEMA to relocate illegal aliens within the US, when local cities and towns, and their law enforcement agencies, don't even know what is going on, as recently leaked footage and body-cam video from Sheriff's deputies in Westchester County, NY makes clear.

We also discuss the resignation of Justice Stephen Breyer and the excellent piece that just appeared in the WSJ, "Race, Gender, and the Supreme Court."  We're joined on the program by Lt. Governor (SC) Pamela Evette, who shares her recent visit to Christian Academy in Myrtle Beach, among other items.  We also talk to Douglas Blair with the Daily Signal, who wrote a fascinating (and disturbing) piece this week over at the Daily Signal, about 1.6 Million "Redditers" who think we should just do away with "work" altogether.  (Oh yea, this is going to work out well!)  We wonder if any of these people have ever been to Venezuela.

Reese shares some Parting Wisdom in the final segment, and reminds listeners to write in an share how they've been investing in the lives of others... what started as a Christmas experiment must now carry on!  If you've got a story to share with Reese and the Saturday Morning Coffee crew, send a teaser to Reese @ reeseboydSMC (at) gmail.com, and we may invite you to come on a broadcast of Saturday Morning Coffee and talk about it.

In the meantime, as promised there's an "Easter egg" in this edition of the Saturday Morning Coffee podcast, so be sure to listen carefully!  Thanks for listening and we'll see you next week for more "Saturday Morning Coffee!"
