Darryl Hill began his subcontractor’s career in Greensboro, NC working for QI-Renn now Masco Corporation for 10 years. During this time he mastered gutter installation, making it a “skilled trade” and “craft” instead of a job.
In 1996 Masco decided to open a new branch in Myrtle Beach, SC. Management needed someone to relocate to work on a start up for a guttering department. Darryl having become a Master Gutter Installer had worked his way up in the company and management chose him for this opportunity. He was offered the promotion and Darryl accepted.
Darryl, his wife and now business partner Lesley, along with their two young children, relocated in June of 1996 to Myrtle Beach, SC and he started installing at Tri-City of Myrtle Beach. Darryl single handedly worked for three years installing gutter all over the Grand Strand for Tri-City until he had built them a clientele and earned the company an excellent reputation in the gutter installation department.
In 1999, some changes in the housing market came along and an opportunity presented itself for Darryl and Lesley to pursue a lifelong dream of owning their own business and on April 1, 1999, Suncoast Building Products & Services, Inc. opened for business.
Today, Darryl and Lesley’s son Zeb like his dad, is a Master Installer/COO and his wife Megan is the company’s General Manager. Today, Suncoast Building Products & Services, Inc. has grown into a powerhouse gutter and rain water control small business, serving all of the Horry, Georgetown, & Brunswick County areas, as well as surrounding counties and neighboring states.
Their success is attributed to skilled experienced workmanship, excellent customer service, and selling the best product at the best price. Their understanding of the principle of “customer satisfaction” keeps their contractors, homeowners, business owners and their referrals coming back year after year.
